UT preparatory academy’s school program for students entering grades 9 - 12 consists of an extensive offering of academic courses, as well as enrichment seminars and athletic camps. our academic program for high school students is composed of courses offering instruction in a variety of subject matters

Grade 9 - FSF1O - CORE FRENCH
We use a wide variety of teaching and learning strategies to sustain student interest and maximize learning. A few learning strategies that we recommend and support are: reading and listening for general idea, risk-taking, vocabulary development and process writing.
Teaching and learning strategies address all types of learners with a balance of independent, collaborative, student-centered and teacher-directed activities. Teaching strategies include but are not limited to; Socratic style, group facilitation, discussion groups and conferencing. Peer and self evaluation are encouraged to develop reflective and conscientious learning. Activities are relevant and motivating and allow for student creativity.
Learning strategies include but are not limited to brainstorming, think-pair-share, using graphic organizers, independent work, word walls, reading logs, voluntary participation in class discussions, four corners, literature circles, and note-taking.
Grade 11- ENG3U - ENGLISH
This course emphasizes the development of literacy, communication, and critical and creative thinking skills necessary for success in academic and daily life. Students will analyse challenging literary texts from various periods, countries, and cultures, as well as a range of informational and graphic texts, and create oral, written, and media texts in a variety of forms.
An important focus will be on using language with precision and clarity and incorporating stylistic devices appropriately and effectively.
The course is intended to prepare students for the compulsory Grade 12 university or college preparation course.
